Compact Piston Seals, also known as TPM, are engineered for hydraulic and pneumatic systems where space optimization is paramount. The seals develop a tight gripping force between piston and cylinder bore to block fluid seepage, ensuring efficient and reliable operation in confined spaces. These seals are particularly well-suited for industrial machinery where space is limited and typically operate at pressures lower than those handled by Piston seals (D-seals).
A compact piston seal typically comprises up to five rings : -
1. A central elastomeric rubber ring, which is the primary sealing component.
2. Two backup rings, constructed from thermoplastic material, designed to prevent extrusion
3. Two guide rings, used for the piston centering function.
